French lessons by Zoom or Skype

French lessons are a great option for learning French.

How many times a week should I take French lessons individually?

We advise devoting 2 or more times per week to learning. We have to refuse students who want to study French 1 time. Our practice shows that this is ineffective. You will just waste your money. Therefore, the best option is to take classes 2-3-4 times a week. It all depends on your workload and goals.

Studying with a teacher on an individual basis, you get such advantages:

  • You can choose the time convenient for you
  • The teacher makes an individual program for you
  • You can suggest your own topic to study.
  • Classes are held online, often in Zoom or Skype, but you can offer any other service convenient for you.
  • The focus is on you alone.

Of course, you should be prepared for the fact that the price for individual lessons is more expensive than group lessons. But this does not mean that they are more effective. All because of the fact that the teacher pays attention only to you.

Advantages of French lessons online:

  • You can practice French from anywhere in the world. At home, in your favorite café or on a bench in the park
  • Saves travel time
  • No face-to-face contact (this can be a plus or a minus). The plus side of Skype French lessons is for people who are recovering from an illness, for example.

Minuses of Skype French lessons:

  • You depend on a good internet connection
  • Possible distractions: relatives, cat, extraneous noises and so on.

Learning French online is not inferior to live lessons. We send all textbooks in messenger and links to online grammar exercises, articles and pictures necessary for the lesson. Skype and Zoom also have a feature like screen demo, thanks to which you can watch the video together with the teacher.

If you still have doubts about the effectiveness of French lessons online, sign up for your first lesson and give it a try!

How do French lessons online work?

Using the screen sharing features, the teacher shows you the materials prepared for the lesson. Also, teachers like to prepare lesson materials on the dropbox platform. We study not only with textbooks, but also with video and audio materials. Also in Zoom there is a function of remote control of the screen, with this you can do assignments together with the teacher, make notes on the screen itself, when you need to write down new vocabulary, example sentences and so on.

We also use a +jambord board where you can stick stickers, write, draw diagrams.

Good luck with your studies!

Frequently Asked Questions

Learning French on your own is difficult for most people. There are many nuances in French that are easy to miss when learning it on your own. Since putting the correct pronunciation and dealing with grammar on your own is not easy. In addition, having someone to communicate with while learning a new language helps to better practice speaking and understanding the language, which may not be possible when learning on your own.

Learning French can take anywhere from a few months to a few years, depending on a person’s goals and the amount of time they can devote to learning. For those who have decided to reach a conversational level, it usually takes between 1 and 3 years. However, with intensive French language study, one can achieve good results much faster. In addition, taking a French course or individual lessons can speed up the process considerably.

To start learning French on your own, we advise the following:

1. Start by learning basic vocabulary related to everyday topics such as greetings, numbers, colors, and common objects.

2. Once you’ve mastered the basics, immerse yourself in the language – listen to French podcasts or watch French movies and TV shows with subtitles.

3. Practice speaking French with others by enrolling in our online courses.

4. Read books and magazines in French to familiarize yourself with sentence structure and grammar rules.

5. Purchase online courses or use free resources such as Duolingo to practice your speaking skills and improve your pronunciation.

6. Make flashcards with useful phrases and words for quick memorization in French

To communicate in French, you need to know about 600 words. For conversations at an intermediate level and a deeper understanding of the culture and its history, you will need to learn 1,000 to 2,000 words. To reach a level close to fluency, or to specialize in a particular area such as literature or law, it is recommended to learn between 3,000 and 6,000 words – plus, if they are verbs, to know all their conjugations, of course!
